Teriyaki Chicken Don Bento

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Emmem and I talked about having a list of foods that we were going through for our children's bentos this year. So here is my very first Teriyaki Chicken Bento for 2014.

RM has got sides of stirfried greens and a ham and tempeh (Indonesian fermented soybeans) side dish.

This was lunch for me and Mouse. Awesome with some kimchi.

This was Minnie's recess (but she didn't get it because she went early to school).

Takoyaki wanted something else so here is her first self-packed box of the year for her Sec One Camp - Gardenia Butter Rolls. She loves them (and so do I, oops).

A Slow Long Week of Stomach Flu

The bug has been moving around in my family and our neighbours, and it's been tough trying to keep up with the illness as well as PSLE prepping for Takoyaki. Plus I dropped my handphone and the camera lens is scratched, resulting in blurry photos. Bummer. Here are the bentos this week that I've been more pleased with.

1. Made things easier for myself by buying a chicken pie from Polar (upon request of Roast Meat).

2. Same things - steamed buns, cocktail sausage, edamame and apple bunnies - for both.

3. A super blurry pic of a bento Takoyaki made for herself for her PSLE Listening Comprehension day, because I was too zonked out with battling the stomach bug (I spent practically the whole night with the porcelain goddess). I am so glad she has the know-how, although her camera skills can do with more work d:)

March Holiday Bentos

Although it's the one week March school hols, Bbth Takoyaki and Roast Meat had some activities in school today, so each brought something to eat during the short break they were given.

RM's was just thrown together in 15 mins (because I overslept AND forgot about the bento), and I was thankful that the fuzhou fishballs (fishballs with minced chicken in the centre) I bought yesterday were not frozen. And I didn't even have any bread on hand! Sheesh.

And surprise, surprise! Takoyaki decided to pack her own bento today, wow... It's just some fruits and vegetables but I think she enjoyed the process, from choosing her box and silicone cup to deciding how to arrange everything (without me around - I was busy nursing the tot). Yes, I've been trying to get her to pack her own occasionally, without much success, till now.

Just some tomato wedges, grapes and a piece of konnyaku jelly.
